Sarcoids - Horse

Sarcoids are the most common type of skin tumor in horses. They are typically benign but can cause issues due to their tendency to grow, spread, and irritate surrounding tissue. They are believed to be linked to bovine papillomavirus and are often seen in areas of previous trauma. While treatment can be challenging and often requires multiple approaches, the prognosis is generally favorable if the sarcoids are appropriately managed.
